Seven Hills Hospital Gets a ₹400 Crore Shot in the Arm

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has approved a fresh settlement to revive the long-delayed Seven Hills Hospital project in Marol by leasing the land to Capri Global for 30 years, with an option to extend the lease by another 30 years.

Under the agreement, the settlement amount has been fixed at Rs 223.48 crore. Capri Global will directly pay Rs 183.51 crore towards pending lease rent, property tax, and other dues related to Seven Hills Healthcare Private Limited, while an additional Rs 39.97 crore will be paid upon realisation of receivables.

The company has committed to investing Rs 400 crore over the next five years to redevelop the facility into a 1,500-bed multi-speciality hospital. The project will continue under the original public-private partnership (PPP) model, with 300 beds and outpatient services reserved for economically weaker sections through a new agreement with the civic body.

The draft agreement also allows ancillary commercial facilities such as pharmacies, diagnostic centres, guesthouses, restaurants, and medical institutes. Originally approved in 2004, the Seven Hills Hospital project had remained stalled for years due to disputes, delays, and insolvency proceedings.
